# Satellite Pointer vs Staslink

Satellite Pointer and Staslink both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 57% of Staslink's written reviews are positive against 38% of Satellite Pointer's. Staslink also leads on ratings volume (19K vs 3.3K). Satellite Pointer's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Satellite Pointer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Staslink sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Satellite Pointer against 4.4 for Staslink. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Staslink has 19K ratings behind it against 3.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 38% of Satellite Pointer's written reviews are positive against 57% of Staslink's.

Satellite Pointer ships an update monthly, Staslink every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
