# Satellite Pointer vs Satellite Dish

The clearest difference is rating: Satellite Dish at 5.0 against Satellite Pointer's 4.4. Satellite Dish also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Satellite Pointer's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Satellite Pointer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Satellite Dish asks for nothing beyond the download.

Satellite Dish holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Satellite Pointer has 3.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Satellite Pointer ships an update monthly, Satellite Dish every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
