# Pure Flix vs EchoTV Studios

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EchoTV Studios at none against Pure Flix's 16. EchoTV Studios also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). Pure Flix's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 5) and chart position (#179 vs unranked). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pure Flix sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. EchoTV Studios asks for nothing beyond the download.

EchoTV Studios holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pure Flix has 14K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pure Flix ships an update every 4 months, EchoTV Studios every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
