# GPS History vs Geonection

The clearest difference is rating: Geonection at 4.4 against GPS History's 1.7. Geonection also leads on ratings volume (240 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). GPS History's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS History sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Geonection sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Geonection holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Geonection has 240 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 75% and 74% positive.

GPS History ships an update every 6 days, Geonection every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
