# CrossStitcher vs GenPlan

The clearest difference is review sentiment: GenPlan at 100% against CrossStitcher's 23%. GenPlan also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). CrossStitcher's advantage is ratings volume (260 vs 5). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CrossStitcher sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. GenPlan asks for nothing beyond the download.

GenPlan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CrossStitcher has 260 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of CrossStitcher's written reviews are positive against 100% of GenPlan's.

CrossStitcher ships an update every 3 weeks, GenPlan every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
