# Cognition vs Astrocode

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Astrocode at 44 against Cognition's 6. Astrocode also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cognition sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Astrocode sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Cognition against 4.9 for Astrocode. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Astrocode has 44 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 88% of Cognition's written reviews are positive against 89% of Astrocode's.

Cognition ships an update monthly, Astrocode every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
