# InShot vs Clippy

The clearest difference is ratings volume: InShot at 2.5M against Clippy's 201. InShot also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (86% vs 65%). Clippy's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. InShot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Clippy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

InShot holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: InShot has 2.5M ratings behind it against 201, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of InShot's written reviews are positive against 65% of Clippy's.

InShot ships an update fortnightly, Clippy every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
