# InShot vs Text Message Chat Video Maker

The clearest difference is ratings volume: InShot at 2.5M against Text Message Chat Video Maker's 1.1K. InShot also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). Text Message Chat Video Maker's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. InShot sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Text Message Chat Video Maker sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

InShot holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: InShot has 2.5M ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of InShot's written reviews are positive against 88% of Text Message Chat Video Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

InShot ships an update every 2 weeks, Text Message Chat Video Maker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
