# InShot vs Frames

InShot and Frames both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of InShot's written reviews are positive against 29% of Frames's. InShot also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (2.5M vs 624). Frames's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. InShot sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Frames sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for InShot against 4.7 for Frames. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: InShot has 2.5M ratings behind it against 624, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of InShot's written reviews are positive against 29% of Frames's.

InShot ships an update every 2 weeks, Frames every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
