# SolarWriter vs NotaTime

The clearest difference is update cadence: NotaTime at every 10 days against SolarWriter's every 5 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SolarWriter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NotaTime sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SolarWriter ships an update every 5 months, NotaTime every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
