# First 5 vs GCCC

The clearest difference is rating: First 5 at 4.5 against GCCC's 4.0. First 5 also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 26 months) and ratings volume (879 vs 4). GCCC's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 73%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

First 5 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: First 5 has 879 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of First 5's written reviews are positive against 100% of GCCC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

First 5 ships an update every 3 months, GCCC every 26 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
