# Hush Chat vs Veil

The clearest difference is rating: Hush Chat at 5.0 against Veil's 4.5. Hush Chat also leads on iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.4). Veil's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hush Chat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Veil has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Hush Chat ships an update every 3 weeks, Veil fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
