# Video Compress vs Mutebot

The clearest difference is ads: Mutebot at none against Video Compress's shown. Mutebot also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 18.0). Video Compress's advantage is ratings volume (3.7K vs 69) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Compress sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Mutebot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Video Compress against 4.6 for Mutebot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Compress has 3.7K ratings behind it against 69, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of Video Compress's written reviews are positive against 33% of Mutebot's.

Video Compress ships an update every 2 months, Mutebot every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
