# Word Count vs GrusHome

The clearest difference is rating: GrusHome at 5.0 against Word Count's 4.3. Word Count's advantage is ratings volume (48 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Count sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GrusHome sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GrusHome holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Count has 48 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Word Count ships an update every 9 days, GrusHome every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
