# Scoop vs Carpool.School

The clearest difference is rating: Scoop at 4.8 against Carpool.School's 3.4. Scoop also leads on ratings volume (20K vs 5). Carpool.School's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scoop holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scoop has 20K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scoop ships an update every 3 weeks, Carpool.School every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
