# DonutCat vs Makeover Dream

DonutCat and Makeover Dream both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of DonutCat's written reviews are positive against 39% of Makeover Dream's. DonutCat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 13.0). Makeover Dream's advantage is ratings volume (5.5K vs 26). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DonutCat sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Makeover Dream sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Makeover Dream holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Makeover Dream has 5.5K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of DonutCat's written reviews are positive against 39% of Makeover Dream's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DonutCat ships an update weekly, Makeover Dream fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
