# FlightReady Academy vs Flight Apprentice

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flight Apprentice at none against FlightReady Academy's 17. Flight Apprentice also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.1). FlightReady Academy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlightReady Academy sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Flight Apprentice asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flight Apprentice holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightReady Academy has 893 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FlightReady Academy ships an update fortnightly, Flight Apprentice every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
