# DatChat vs skeleton social

The clearest difference is monetization model: DatChat at freemium against skeleton social's subscription. DatChat also leads on ratings volume (943 vs 5) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DatChat sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and skeleton social sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

skeleton social holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DatChat has 943 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DatChat ships an update every 9 days, skeleton social every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
