# Calcave vs PermisLux

The clearest difference is update cadence: PermisLux at every 5 days against Calcave's every 3 months. Calcave's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calcave sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per year and PermisLux sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calcave ships an update every 3 months, PermisLux every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
