Love the app, sync isn’t working

First off, this app is already my favorite note app for quickly jotting things down before deciding whether to commit something to action or task. Two issues I hope y’all might have a solution for, I paid for premium and use the app on my iPad and iPhone but the iCloud sync isn’t working. It shows synced, but doesn’t. Also, I love LOVE that you’ve added export as markdown since I hope to incorporate this using a shortcut into my obsidian knowledge base, but why aren’t the same export options available for the iPad version?

Thank you so much for the kind words and the detailed feedback — it really means a lot! The iCloud sync issue has been fixed in the latest update, so please make sure you're on the most recent version. If you're still experiencing any issues after updating, feel free to reach out directly. As for the export options on iPad — you're absolutely right, and this is something I'm actively working on. The markdown export feature will be available on iPad very soon in an upcoming update. Thanks again for supporting 1 Bit Notes and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Feedback like yours genuinely helps shape where the app goes next! 🙏

My new favorite app!!!

Love this app, finally a cool way to take notes! Even the saving and deleting are super cool and interactive! Green/ Red terminal colors, chef’s kiss! The Nerd in me is so happy right now!!!

Thank you so much! This means the world to us! We built 1 Bit Notes for exactly this reason to bring that terminal/hacker aesthetic to note taking. The nerd in us is equally happy knowing you love it! More cool features coming soon. Stay tuned!

Interface

This will make you want to type some notes

That's exactly what I was going for — thank you! More good stuff is on the way.

Finally, a notes app with personality

I’m always hunting for the perfect notes app and never stick with one, but this might break that cycle. The retro terminal aesthetic is incredible, and I love that there’s actually a working shell in there. You can tell this is a passion project from a smaller dev team, and I happily grabbed the $2 lifetime license - honestly feels like a steal.

Privacy is solid with iCloud-only sync and no tracking. The save file animation is a nice detail that shows the dev cares about the small stuff. I won’t spoil it, but I saw the dev runs on coffee, yet I don’t see a tip jar anywhere. The one-time purchase is great for us but probably not sustainable long-term.

A few things would make this perfect: bigger hit boxes on the corner buttons (I fat-fingering them), and native Markdown support so I don’t have to switch keyboards for markdown top row. Also, being able to sync to a specific iCloud folder would let me access notes from other apps seamlessly.

Here’s an idea - add DLC-style “upgrades” that fit the terminal vibe. Let me pay $5-10 to customize hex values (background and accents) for themes so I can add Catppuccin, and I’d buy that instantly. It would be like upgrading hardware for a real system (still remember installing my first 128mb ram stick).

I’d happily support continued development that way.
Thanks Dev, really impressed with this one. What a fun app to stumble upon! 🫶🏻

Hey, thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful review — it genuinely made my day! You really nailed what 1 Bit Notes is all about: a passion project with personality. The fact that you noticed the save animation and the terminal vibe tells me you're exactly the kind of user I built this for. I want to be upfront — this is a hobby project I work on in my spare time, so development moves at its own pace. That said, I've added the features you mentioned to my development roadmap: - Bigger hit boxes on corner buttons — totally valid, already on the list. - Native Markdown support — planned so you won't need to switch keyboards anymore. - Custom iCloud folder sync — great idea for interoperability, I'll look into this seriously. - Theme customization with hex values — I love the "DLC upgrade" analogy. Custom themes with full color control are planned as part of a Premium upgrade. Your concern about long-term sustainability really resonated with me. A Premium tier is in the works that will include these features and future additions, so users who want to support continued development will have a way to do exactly that. The core experience will always remain solid, but Premium will unlock the deeper customization and power features. The 128MB RAM stick memory hit close to home, by the way. Thanks again for the kind words and the constructive feedback. Users like you make this hobby worth every late night. Stay tuned! - Dev
