History cleaning

Past 1 year i hav been trying 10 different translator. Even the paid ones not good as this one. Best i ever used. Turkish to English and English to Turkish 100% accurate. Also recordings from Chinese to english is best i ever used.
The only problem I could not find clear history button. I am assuming there isn't any.
The annoying and time wasting bit is, clearing history one by one…

Response from developer

We appreciate your feedback. Our app experience has been improved recently which includes a feature that lets you delete your entire history, and we are curious to hear if it meets your needs. Thank you for using Microsoft Translator app!

Stunningly Excellent Translator

I have used this to real-time translate some very difficult languages to understand or keep up with for an English speaker like myself, languages like Arabic and spanish. Both are of a very fast cadence and this app just makes a breeze of it all. Its been great to hear news coverage of the Israeli-Hamas catastrophe without western bias or slant thrown in for good measure. Al-Jazeera and other regional news sources that normally would be out of reach are now as if I'm hearing them in my native tongue. Real time translation of events as they are covered, many hours before our US news applies their bias and spin. Im not knocking our media completely, I know most stories are played with an honest desire to present facts but I also know inherent bias is hard to overcome, even at a subconscious level. This is why this app is so important. I can now get multiple sides to an event and make up my own mind. Thank you for this app!

Pretty good but a few basic things to improve

App is handy especially for China as a lot of apps don’t work there (like Google Translate)

But I reckon there are a few things to improve:
1/It’s a bit slow. It takes a bit of time to get the translation out even when the network is good

2/For Chinese translations: when translating from Chinese to English there is no Pinyin. You have to individually click on each word of the sentence to get the pinyin it’s really not handy, something that Google Translate does better

3/ For Chinese translations: when translating from English to Chinese you have to do an extra step to get the pinyin, it’s not too bad but would be very much handier to have the pinyin in the main page

4/Image translation: works ok, but maybe 1 out of 4 times it doesn’t work which makes it not very reliable so I was using WeChat to translate images as this one is working 99% of the time

Issue with writing Chinese characters

I’ve been using this for a long time and have found it very useful until recently when I discovered I couldn’t write Chinese characters at all as every stroke I made on the screen just disappeared so I couldn’t form any words! Trying to translate Chinese to English.. what gives?!

Why the awful update?

This was a perfect app, why did you ruin it??

Multiple Deletes

Great app but hard to use as it badly needs a multiple delete (or a Delete All) function. It is very laborious and time consuming to have to individually delete each translated sentence or word.

Clear History

The update has removed the Clear History feature. Now you have to delete each line one by one. Very tiresome. A simple Clear All History would be helpful

Good enough

The translations are pretty accurate but the problem is in the interface. It’s not convenient because it requires several clicks to view pronunciation (essential for languages such as Chinese) and to show the translation on full screen. Also, every single translation is automatically saved, so you have to go through and manually delete them all individually, which is time consuming and also requires several clicks for each one. All in all it’s ok if you’re only using it occasionally.

Works Well Mostly But…

I’ve been trying this app out by using it to translate Vietnamese, a language that I know well, to see its vocabulary and expression fluency. It works very good mostly, but I noticed that it censors the word “dog” in Vietnamese! Why???? Sure it can be used as a profanity but that certainly depends on context. “Chó” in general is a very common word which literally means “dog”, there’s no other words that can replace it. I don’t know if there are other bugs like that in other languages, which makes me kind of distrust the app.

Also, please make it easier to delete previous translations. It should be as simple as a side swipe instead of having to click on it then click delete all the time, which is rather user unfriendly. Other than that, I love the way the translations pronounced. Much less robotic than google translate.

Doesn’t translate websites

Used to be a really good app on a phone. It would be useful at translating websites. Now there is no option for it. Go back to your old platform. There is a need to be able to translate in many dimensions.
