Good, but improvements would be nice.
I had an ‘exciting’ adventure with customer support, having lost my cloudbit microSD card (User error! Not their fault!) they were really nice, gave me a (bugged) tool to UPDATE the firmware. I found an img of the firmware online. however it does Not support iPad mini 4 screen, so I had annoying black borders. Please just add this API, it would make my day. Functionality-wise, it works fine, I signed in with my Google account and it was able to set up after a few tries, works great!

Kids + cloud = NOPE!
You can’t do a single thing in this app without creating an account. That’s a huge red flag for me. The devices our son uses are not even connected to the internet. He did not really get exposed to marketing until after he was 6-7. I consider that one of the best things I have ever done for him. I can see what is going on here... So, no. Just no.
*update* I thought that perhaps I should preview it and give them a chance. It is sometimes a burden to know how predictable people are. They crowd sourced the education out to OTHER KIDS! It promises to give projects based on the bits you own, but all it returns is messy garbage “look what I did” style vanity brag posts that mostly tell the person trying to learn nothing about WHY the bits are doing what they do. So great, we are teaching a generation to assemble things and brag about it. This app is a missed opportunity that really could have added value, but instead they just wanted to use it to make kids jealous of the bits they don’t have... sick. My child will never see it. No big loss it adds very little.
*Update 2*
Lol, worse yet. The “lessons” just seem to be pulled from a web source and have files and links that don’t work from within the app! Let’s frustrate the kids while we’ll try to bilk them.

Pretty good
I just got it, and found it easy to understand! Dunno how it will turn out, but all parts work for now. Hard to find more uses though.
Great app, but drains battery and only on iPhone
This app is very user-friendly and well-designed! Two things I would like to see improved: When using this app to control my newly built rover from the Gizmos & Gadgets Kit (2nd edition), I noticed that my iPhone 5S battery drained significantly in a short period of time (no other app does this to my phone). Also, I would love to read all the helpful information and instructions provided on this app on an iPad - there is a lot of text and it'll be easier to read on a bigger screen. Happily anticipating more updates for these potential improvements! Thanks for reading c:

app.
nice app, however it would be better if one needn't login every time one wants to access the bluetooth function. i am not a big fan of the social media aspect of any app.
No kits to select fix
I had the same issue of not being able to select which kit but was able to fix it. I deleted the ap and reinstalled it. Then in the beginning it asks you what kit you have: be sure to select all of them that you have by clicking on it then hit add or done(can't remember the words) . That worked for us.

No kits
Agree, can't even register because there are no kits to choose from.
Can't add kits
Can't add any kits in the app. Just opened the kit and installed the app and when trying to add a kit nothing is displayed.
UPDATE: Wasn't working on two different devices but today it is so updating rating.

SO FRUSTRATING
I bought this set and put it together, and it was really fun! For about two seconds when it completely fell apart. If you already bought the kit and haven't opened it yet, RETURN IT! It's too annoying and falls apart every time I lay a finger on it. I don't mean to be acting insane but I wasted my money. It just couldn't stay together.

App great but challenges page not working
The app is well designed, intuitive and full of good content. The challenges page forces the app to close and there's no contact details on the app to report this to them.
This issue seems to be resolved so bumping up to 5 stars. Particularly for the speed in which the issue was resolved.
