Wish we never got this boiler
Every couple of months the system gets totally disconnected and attempting to reconnect and fix everything is a multiple day event, usually because the first few days you quit because you’re so frustrated. Today we just had the heat turn on in the middle of summer. Can’t turn off the heat because the thermostat disconnected from the device. I can’t reconnect the thermostat because the device needs to be updated. I can’t update the device because I get a spinning wheel of death and it stops the update process.
Best to avoid this product altogether! I wish I did!!

Too technical. But great for using to turn on and off.
This would be an interesting app if it was aimed at the ordinary person in the street instead of all the plumbers and engineers who probably know what everything is. It is like reading Chinese. And as for changing in the advanced role it is impossible.
However if you are away from home and want to turn up the heating it is great why can’t you make the rest of the choices easy

Improving
There have been quite a few bugs and issues with the app but it currently seems better and more stable than its earlier incarnations. On the plus side it has saved me tons of money and my boiler is running really efficiently. The weather compensation and load compensation works well and the system is good at predicting when to put the heating on and understands the thermal characteristics of my property. Programming it is fairly easy but it would be nice if it was even easier - it’s not always entirely intuitive to use . Overall though I would recommend

Awful app - not buying a Vaillant boiler again
In 10 years of using phone apps this is the single-most buggy and pointless app I have ever used. I just want to change my heating schedule and I’ve got to jump through a rubbish app and website that is constantly crashing and rejecting my saved passwords at first attempt. You can’t control the heating using the physical device that comes with the buttonless boiler, so you rely on this rubbish app to do the most simple of tasks like turning your heating up. Peak over-complication of a standard procedure that didn’t need altering. When this boiler runs it’s course, I’ll be going with another supplier.
Note to Vaillant - if you want Apple style minimalist controller devices/boilers, you’ve got to properly invest in the underlying software. This app is buggy, fiddly and has put me off your physical product.

Unable to install the app to run my Vaillant remote thermostat
Unfortunately, Vaillant has not made the app to control my thermostat remotely in my Apple ID area. I have a 46,000€ heat pump system with no available remote control.
Reliable thermostat !
A bit pricey … BUT over the last 3 years it reduced my increasing utility bill by over 50% ! So it’s worth every penny you spend on this reliable unit . It takes a bit of time to get use to the “layout” of the app but after that it’s great tool to reduce and monitor your heating cost/temperature.

Good overall Performance
This is not a bad app actually. The best thing about it is being able to track your usage over the years.
For some this may be a waste of time but, it’s been really interesting as we refurbish and insulate our old 1883 house., seeing the investment and improvements show on your gas usage is a good thing.
The last update had been a big improvement too, and is now easier to set schedules, temperature and being away at the touch of a button.

Unreliable
I’ve had the vSmart system and app now for around 3 years and I’m about ready to rip it out! I’m fed up with the inconsistent issues that crop up now and again. The latest issue started when the clocks changed last weekend. Since then I’m finding my heating schedules are being totally ignored. At the programmed ‘off’ time at the end night, the app suggests our heating is off, when in fact it isn’t! The heating continues to be active through the night maintaining the temperature normally associated to the day schedule! Until Vaillant support gets back to me and to avoid increasing my energy bill even more than it already is, I now need to switch the system completely off and manually switch it back on in the morning. Not impressed!

A very smart thermostat
Since this is our 2nd Vaillant boiler the first one installed in our house over 37 years ago at that time this type of smart room stat was not available, here we’re in December 2022 are we have our current boiler replaced with a Vaillant boiler which has smart thermostat installed this means greater efficiency as the thermostat can be located in any room or via Alexa or
Google assistant having it on our mobile means we can have it turned off if we leave the house or switch back or remotely I highly recommend this product a smart way to control your heating in the 21st century……

Easy to use heating system
I’ve had this system in for 2 years now and each upgrade makes it better.
It’s easy to use and works very efficiently with our eco friendly gas boiler.
For the technically minded it controls the central heating water temperature to suite the internal and external temperature. Also the amount the size of the gas flame to suit the demand for heat. Thus making this a very efficient system.
