Fix your algorithms!!!

I love this app. I really do. I love it so much that I’ve read just about every single story on the popular and new pages. However, when I search for new books by genre, the same list of books pop up.

Now I read a lot. I can finish a 500 page book in a day. That being said, I am searching for something new to read everyday, if not multiple times a day. I’m losing hope that there is even anything new on the site for me to even read. Please refresh your algorithms so that I can see new stories and new things.

Not being able to see the page count of each story on the app before I click into it, is frustrating. Something with 30 chapters that’s complete can be misleading. Most of the time, those books average about two hundred to three hundred pages, or even one hundred. I’d like to be able to see how many pages are in the book before so that I don’t accidentally cause the app to crash like it has so many times before.

Love it, though it does drain the battery

It would be amazing if there was a battery saving option or something as I like to take my iPad on trips to read. I came from wattpad but didn’t like how it only allowed users to save two books without premium, but it also didn’t use up the battery it making it last a couple of days without charging. I have found with Inkitt after a few hours my battery percentage is very low. Don’t know if it is possible but I would love if it can be developed into the software. Still love the app though!

It’s really good

Inkitt is brilliant

Good platform simple and ease of use which is outstanding
Easy to negotiate the book selection with a wide range of genres
Unlike other users I haven’t been pushed out so all’s good
Also use Wattpad and iBooks

Great App but has issues

I love the stories! I usually do all my reading on this app, but it has bugs that I’ve been dealing with that a super irritating. Sometimes it’ll just completely cut off as I’m reading something and I’ll end up at my home screen. Another issue I’ve been having is that when I go to write comments on a chapter my keyboard will get in the way and I can’t submit and or see the things I’ve written to check for misspellings. There’s also the problem of when an author has an update on your news feed and I click it, it doesn’t take me to the new chapter, it takes me to the previous one. The biggest issue I am currently facing is every time I open the app it takes me back to whatever I read last, even after I exit out of the chapter and click on a different tab like discover it news and when I do try to go back the screen won’t load. So now I can’t see any of my updates of read anything new for that matter. I’m seriously thinking about deleting which is a shame because I love a lot of the stories on there.

Response from developer

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that. Can you please contact us at support@inkitt.com so that we can look into this for you? Thanks!

Great place for stories

Don’t get me wrong, Inkitt is awesome. I love that I’m able to read stories by upcoming authors, download them for offline reading and potentially see the stories be published by the Inkitt Team themselves.
Now, a question. Do I have to re-download my stories every time there’s an update? I’m asking because I downloaded a story before the update, but when I did it and opened the same story, grey lines appeared instead of the text. When I reopened the app online, it took me back to the start of it.
Some suggestions - I know the app automatically saves my position, but can you please add bookmarks? I like to skim ahead and would love to be able to get back to where I was. Also, blurbs. Half the time, I do not know what type of story I’m getting based on the short descriptions (which are usually the first few lines of the story) supplied. Maybe make it so the authors have to write a blurb before they publish? That would make it easier to find other stories in a series too.

After the update

This app is pretty good where the books are concerned, great range of material to read really. However the app itself has had quite a few glitches while I’ve used it. One of the cases is whenever I’m reading it just closes abruptly then I have to open the app all over. When I do sometimes it opens to right where I left off but the moment I start to swipe it takes me back one chapter...then it may or may not shut down again but this happens so frequently while I’m using the app. Yesterday I updated it, apparently it included some bug fixes and what not but it didn’t fix anything. In fact I have a new problem now. It does the shut down thing and now when I open the app I can’t see the app home page, like I’ve just closed the book I’m reading and for some reason my screen is white, the home page has been loading forever and I just need someone to fix it please. Reading isn’t meant to be this stressful.

Amazing app

I love this app so much i have it on my phone and ipad. Whenever i have freetime i am on this app. Its an amazing app with a great variety of stories (although i tend to stick to romance, drama, and werewolf stories). Every genre has more than one option, such as romance, you can read soulmates, abuse, teen love, and so much more. I have told almost every single one of my friends about this app. Well done to the creators and authors! 😁👍🏻 if i could i would guve this way more than 5 stars.

Love it

I’ve been an avid Wattpad reader for a few years and I’ve been extremely frustrated at it for the past few months. I actually followed the author of my favourite book to inkitt. Inkitt has everything I love about Wattpad but somehow even better. The books are better. The layout cleaner. One tiny suggestion if this is ever seen, perhaps look in to an auto scroll function for lazy individual like myself. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I love it but a couple things...

So far I am enjoying Inkitt and the books that are on the platform. However, there are couple things I’ve noticed that could use some fixing. For some reason, the paging is a little off when I’m moving on to a new chapter, sometimes it will bring me back a chapter or even more than just one. Another thing I would suggest, please show me my progress in my books in the library. It confuses me when I’m trying to figure out which books I’ve already read. Just a side note as well, it would be helpful if there was a way to know if an author updated a book so I could continue it. Other than that, it’s pretty great so far. :)
