Auxy Studio User Reviews

MVP (but could be even better!)

I’m a data scientist by trade who’s been composing and producing music for several years, both orchestral and synthpop. For the latter, there is no software out there that can beat Auxy. I’m a longtime user — I first began making music with Auxy in 2016. Considering the recent lack of updates, I’ve been trying to wean myself off this app, but to no avail. The interface is so intuitive, the variety of instruments so vast and the sounds so satisfying, that I just keep coming back time and time again. Why should I sit around learning sidechain compression in Logic Pro when I could just use Auxy’s ducker slider?

Some suggestions from a purely musical standpoint, in case the developers ever plan to return to Auxy in a greater capacity:

— The ability to use different time signatures and create loops with custom bar numbers would be fantastic. I’ve recently been working on a piece in 5/4 time, and I’ve had to make do with 8-bar loops in 5-bar scenes, splitting each of the song’s stanzas into 3 or 4 scenes apiece…certainly not ideal.

— Custom scales! I do love chromatic loops, but it gets a little exhausting having to do so much horizontal scrolling.

— More colors!

— More pads and strings would be great.

— Slider percentages would be lovely.

Thanks for all your hard work, Auxy devs 🙏🏽

PLEASE ADD NEW FEATURES! IT’S SO GOOD ALREADY!!

I’ve used nothing but AUXY studio to make my music for over 2 years now, and I’ve started to run out of options for creating new sounds and effects. I would literally pay twice the amount that’s being asked now if the team behind the app would add more features!!! It’s the perfect layout for someone like me who struggles with dyslexia and astigmatism (which is a nightmare and HELL for programs with so many windows, nodules, slides, tabs and tiiiny writing) so it’s probably the only DAW I (and I’m sure others) can use comfortably! It’s my ride or die i SWEAR. Again, i think I’ve used just about every instrument there is, and messed around with options to create several sounds out of one instrument. Plus, the audio editing and functions are very limited. There’s delay, reverb, ducker, distance, volume, hi/lowpass, etc…but it’d be so cool if there were options to change BPM DURING the song, or even more time signature options!!! More audio effects would be soooo helpful and amazing. It’d completely change the app to something FAR more dynamic. I really, really enjoy this app, I’m just sitting tight and hoping that there’s more to come from it!!! ⭐️

Great App, Lots of room for innovation (a lot of room)

Auxy is my favorite pocket DAW. I’ve been using it for many years and still use it often. It’s easy to get creative ideas out on the go and change things around quickly, with lots of features, settings, and options in projects, all within a nice UI.

I strongly believe there are things that can be added and improved. these are only some of the ideas I remembered while writing this; I’ve thought of so many that I can’t recall them all in this review. So Here are a few:

More sound packs or a simple wavetable synth possible additional tools in the Piano Roll for efficiency, like an option to control other loops within a single loop, if I edit a melody in loop 1. If I have link mode on loop 2. Also gets affected regardless of the sound. If it gets too complex, a simple mode for beginners could be helpful.

Don’t get me wrong—Auxy is an amazing app and already great, but I don’t think it has reached its full potential. It feels a bit left behind compared to other apps. I believe Auxy should continue to improve. At the time I’m writing this, the last update was 7 months ago, and it was only a bug fix. While that won’t stop me from using it, there is definitely room for more development. I was able to come up with these while writing a review so for sure it’s possible to improve the app because people are using it all the time.

This App is Pure Genius .

This app is in a category by itself …many things you can do in Auxy aren’t possible on any other recording control surface . The Effects automation is the best I’ve worked with on IOS . Also the developers were Genius about building out from its base function , without ruining or losing much of its original quality . I've watched as over years as they listened to new ideas and new functions requested by the people . ..and in short order they’d make it a reality for the costumer's…. now the newest version has such unique possibilities , coupled with top quality sounds,..now with the Sampling possibilities ,total unique, original sounds are interchangable,…. you could cut a professional album with no cumbersome mixing and tweaking,..this app has always just made a magical finished product so much easier to attain quickly . Pure and simply -Genuis .

Awesome! Thanks for the kind words! 🙏

Not for me

I need a way to automate parameters, like filters for the synthesisers i’m using. Auxy doesn’t allow for the automation of such parameters, so it’s not for me

Auxy is Dead: A conversation with the developers. Volume 4

I’ve noticed other people noting Auxy’s lack of updates. Take QuinnFuzzball for example: They have a recent review that explains all of the points in my previous reviews in a different way. I’m glad to see that other users are sick of no new features, sounds, or even bug fixes!

For me personally, I’m really torn on whether to keep this app or not. I have so many projects I need, and I generally love the way the app works. But it’s looking like it’s dying, unlike competitors which are flourishing (Medly, GarageBand). And with the recent introduction of full-blown DAWs on iPad (starting with Logic Pro), the era of Auxy seems to be nearing its end. I’m not very happy about having locked myself into paying for a dying app, but hopefully with the subscribers you do have, you will have enough funds to add something to Auxy… or maybe publish the “other products” you claim to be working on.

This is the way!

My second review

Hey Auxy Developers! Ace here again! I just wanted to add onto my first review but couldn’t so this is my second one. Like I said the app itself is really cool. I love the way it’s structured. I even made the “Creeper, Aw Man” song on it and it sounded the same as the original song. I just have a teensy problem. The amount of sounds you have available to you. I wish there could be more sounds available to us without the subscription. I don’t mind using the app for free (unpaid without the 3 day trial), but please add more sounds. If you guys did that, I would be so happy! Also, I invited my friend to my song, but couldn’t see his updates to it, so could you guys make a way to make the edits live so I could see what people edit the moment they edit it? Thank you so much!

Good app, not perfect, but good app

I will begin by saying this app is great for simple block based music production, and this app is strong in blocky and rigid progression type music. This app also is easy to use and learn (all you have to do is mess around with settings and learn what stuff does). The free sounds in this app although few, are still great enough to make amazing music.
This app is wealthy in sounds however a premium subscription is required to access it unfortunately.
Some things I would like to see added is many more colours for the instruments blocks, or the ability to use a colour wheel system to make custom colours for it. Perhaps a mode to make transitional scenes for songs or the ability to customize the scene length more precisely.

Black keys for piano?

love how easy it is to use the app! however, I couldn't figure out how to add sounds for the black keys on piano. I was wondering if there's a solution to that?
