Shake Locate

Say goodbye to postcodes and hello to coordinate based locations powered by Google. Shake Locate launches to help you find your location anywhere in the world and share it with ease. Constant tracking you can now start tracking and send a unique url to friends or family to allow them to track your location in real time. Just like Uber but your the taxi. You can only be tracked when you share the url it is private to you only. Ever been asked where you are and you just do not have a clue? Or perhaps you are new to a city and are finding it difficult to get your bearings and give others directions to your location? Sam East, founder and CEO of Shake Locate created the app after experiencing just that – he was trying to give his father directions to his location after he had moved to a new city and it became quite a challenge. He says, “For those who aren’t familiar with their surroundings it can be difficult to describe how to get to them and the process to share a location can be a fairly long-winded one. I decided to simplify things by creating Shake Locate which works by using longitude and latitude to pinpoint your location.” For those who aren’t technically savvy or simply want to save time finding and sharing their location, it has never been easier. With a mere shake of your phone the new Shake Locate app pinpoints your exact location with a shareable link and allows you to share it via SMS or your chosen social network. What’s more you can create lists of your favourite places, discover what’s near you and share locations with a group of default contacts as well as individuals without being connected to the Internet. Sam continues, “I thought, finding and sharing your location should not have to entail opening several apps or windows before copying and pasting links in a new message or post that you would have to create separately. I wanted to deliver a better experience with Shake Locate and make it as accessible as possible. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
