  • Unable to use app

I’ve had a subscription for over a year now, just recently I have been unable to view the premium content I’ve paid for. I have tried to find a help desk section on the website, app and even the App Store to get in touch with someone who can help me but keep getting an error message saying hockey Canada hasn’t set up their website for it. I am unable to use this app and the subscription I’ve been paying for please any help would be appreciated.

  • App under construction?!

Not happy I have paid for a yearly subscription and the app doesn’t currently work!
  • Buggy

Multiple refreshes on every page. Needed to try the login 3 times. Searches don’t work the first time.
    Please fix.

  • Excellent drill/video content - needs ability to draw/share custom drills

    Like:

    1. Ability to leverage pre-built Hockey Canada drills and customize (add/remove drills) or build my own custom practice plans leveraging other Hockey Canada content (the library is quite big and getting bigger - much larger than the equivalent US Hockey library).

    2. Embedded drill/skill demo videos allows coaching staff to review content before arriving at the rink. Eliminates confusion regarding proper teaching technique. All content can be shared with assistant coaches/players/parents at n/c to them.

    Needs work:

    1. No way to print practice plans for distribution to coaches at the rink. Reality is we need to explain drills to players on ice and that requires a coach’s board. Printing and taping paper plans to a coaches board is fast and effective. Showing a tablet to 17 players all at once doesn’t work. Individual coaches typically carry a paper copy of the drills on ice too.

    2. Need the ability to assign/tag individual drills to coaching staff members with additional instruction notes ex: “Bob - run in defensive zone with 5 players at 5 min intervals. Don’t forget to emphasize hard passes”.

    3. US Hockey app has some useful features like a companion desktop app (the ability to draw up your own drills is important for all coaches). There is also a missed opportunity for Hockey Canada to crowd source innovative drills from the 1000s of hockey coaches across Canada. Give people tools to easily write up and share drills and they will.

    4. The app sign up process is cumbersome. When I shared content with parents/players many found the sign up process confusing and gave up in frustration.

  • Wish the videos would work

It was a great app until the videos stopped working. They load and maybe play a few seconds then freeze. All I get is the audio. Not helpful. Won't be subscribing next year if this isn't fixed.

  • App useful if could get it to work

I had this app last season and really found it helpful. Went to renew this year and I can’t get into the app to see the premium content. It says I don’t have a subscription yet I have been charged for it. I have contacted App Store who says contact developer which has not been easy. Still waiting to hear from hockey Canada network.

  • Mixed views

Found the drills a useful resource to expand the tool kit. The drills were hit and miss, but the different drill categories made navigation simple. App Store issues caused the subscription to not be recognized on my device. Tried to contact Hockey Canada Network about the issue but could not find a contact link, just an FAQ. The subscription price is steep.

  • Most drills useless for developing goaltender

It’s no surprise Canadian goaltending is Falling behind other Countries. Almost every drill ends with a breakaway on the goalie. There is no real game situations at the end of any drills to help them develop any tracking or hockey sense. They should be good in shootouts atleast.

Thank you for your feedback. As part of our annual review of the Hockey Canada Network, our team here at Hockey Canada made goaltending content a priority for the 2019-20 season. There is now a goaltending-specific section in the Skills Development tab with more than 80 drills working on various skills for goaltenders of all ages. There is also a Coaching Goalies resource in the Coaching tab, which offers some additional articles and resources for coaches. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to coaching@hockeycanada.ca.
  • It might be good....

Seems like the content is ok, but pretty much need the subscription to access any drills or plans. Lots of free stuff out there. Save your $$.

Every coach who takes a coaching clinic in Canada is given an access code for a free one-year subscription to the Hockey Canada Network as a coaching resource. After that subscription expires, coaches are offered a $10 renewal code for another year. Coaches who do not take a course can reach out to their member branch and/or minor hockey association to receive access to this coaching resource. Coaches can also visit HockeyCanadaNetwork.com and use the promo code HCCERT2019 to receive 50% off the price of the Hockey Canada Network. In addition, the Hockey Canada Network does have content available for free users. However, the majority of content pertinent to coaches is included with the premium subscription, which can be accessed by the methods mentioned above. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to coaching@hockeycanada.ca.
  • Coach

Although it is important for developers to make a profit, a one time fee is acceptable but as stated by others, as volunteer coach myself, I give ample amounts of time to support kids in hockey, and am honoured to do so but in looking for additional resources, this ‘no access without paying a gauging fee’ on this app is garbage! Absolute garage. (I am a Canadian prairie kid btw) Hockey Canada, You should be embarrassed, give your inflated heads a careful shake. I would highly suggest going to the USA hockey app, it’s a gem! Download it, it’s much more reasonable!!!
