Bad timing
The Spec’s timing couldn’t be worse to roll this out. At a time when people are trying to stay informed, paying to see what’s happening in our community. Nickel and diming the public isn’t the answer, work on your advertising revenues instead

They just forced us to download their new app from the old one. First off it crashed twice while trying to open it. Secondly now it makes me want to pay to read their mindless drivelling? I think not. Good luck Spec but I certainly won’t pay for your biased reporting.

Because of COVID we switched from print to e-Spec and it we were surprised at how much we like it. We love how it’s an exact replica of the print product, it’s familiarity and ease of read. Each story has a convenient link to offer for more info. And you can print any article you want, such as the crossword. Very well thought out.

Disappointed in the new version
I've had the Spectator for years. Both delivered to my home on and off.....then couldn't have it delivered when I moved temporarily to McKellar, Ontario. I decided to go with the e-version when it came out and was thrilled that I could download it even when on vacation in other countries.
But, I must say, since the new version (when Frid Street stopped printing) I've been disappointed in the layout and number of pages (lesser amount). Also, there seems to be so many articles from American news outlets. More Local news articles would be appreciated. I'm glad we still have the Motherlode (Lorraine Sommerfield), Jeff Mahoney and other local journalists contributing articles.
I'll still continue to enjoy receiving the Spec, especially as I'm a snowbird now. Please, consider more local news and sporting events.

This app never works. Always wants to charge me $9.99 to view a paper I have subscribed to since 1985.
Trying to remove an addional section “ceasefire” was not corrected when I updated the Spec APP.

Was working fine until switch to Torstar
Simply cannot login. The very helpful folks at The Spec tried but could only login on PC. It shouldn’t be this hard in 2019!
