I like it, but a few notes..

Please add the option to sort the photos and videos from “recently added” instead of “date taken” because I have to look through them to find. This should be a option, even if backup is off. Also, please get rid of the big play button when pausing videos or skimming through videos with the slider. It’s distractive.

Thank you for your feedback! We understand this need since with a big photo library newly added photos that are taken a while a go can easily disappear. Right now there are some technical limitations here, but we will see if we can work out a solution for this. Thank you for using our app!

Need better optimisation for pro photographers

I like the speed and price of the app, comparing with £15.99 1TB from adobe cloud. But The smart search seems can not access the metadata of raw files , can’t perform a search based on camera , lens , exposure , shutter speed etc info to find the picture. This kind of filters are embedded with all pro photo editing apps, you might want to bring it onboard . Photographers need cloud storage big .

I recommend to everyone

I have been using Jottacloud now for 6 years and I recommend it to all my artist/photographer/creators friends. I like having my whole archive available on my phone. I hope now with the new AI features they can help us organize folders and archives better though

My main backup service

I decided to choose Jottacloud after looking for an alternative to google and Amazon photos. I love the way you can share multiples big files just sharing the link. The issue it’s searching for pictures you already back up. I want to look for an image of my driver license and in other backup services you search “driver license “ and you’ll find it. Here it’s not accurate. You need to make sure to keep pictures organized using your own folders because there’s just a bunch of pictures not organized. Search need to improve big time and default folders by date, location, some kind of face recognition(to organize pictures by person)should be implemented ASAP. Also uploading time of files it’s longer than expected but not so bad.

Excellent option for putting your photos in the cloud

I wanted to like using the photos app with iCloud but for the 10+ years of photos I would have been paying more than I can afford for iCloud. Jottacloud gives me unlimited space for a monthly fee and with it I can store any files plus all of my photos. This app has had some machine learning improvements lately, which makes all the photos searchable. It seems they are using CLIP which does any amazing job of finding photos based on detailed descriptions. It’s great to find that one photo from 7 or 8 years ago, or to see every picture I have of a plate of food, or a child holding a puppy, or a beautiful sunset, or anything else I’m looking for in my photos. Also works great with google Chromecast for putting photos or videos right onto the tv directly from the cloud. Another great feature is the photo map for when I want to see all the photos from a specific location.

Great but bandwidth limitation is terrible

Love the service and the app but the bandwidth limitation is just terrible. They won’t consider changing it or allow affordable plans without the limit. Unlimited doesn’t mean much when it takes days to upload your files.

To your point, I understand your concern regarding the bandwidth limitation where upload speeds are reduced when storage exceeds 5 TB. As you’re probably aware of, the bandwidth limitation was implemented a few years ago to avoid abuse, misuse or commercial use of our private unlimited product. Continued misuse would have made it impossible for us to maintain a high-quality product at a reasonable price. But we realize that the bandwidth limitation can be challenging for a very small, but still important part of our customer base with very high storage needs. We want to find a solution for you and are looking into how we can solve this without opening up for abuse of the service in the future. Great potential but room for improvement

A very good service, but the mobile app is a bit buggy — it doesn’t consistently take backups of photos. You also can’t import albums, so have to manually recreate them, which is annoying. Would also love a feature in the desktop site where you can see in a column the day when photos were taken, and not just when they were added. Otherwise, a very decent app which shows great potential and room for improvement.

Photo backup suggestion

The photo backup function works ok but I’d really like to see more features that could help me locate pictures from the sea of files … I’d like metadata filter, or even simple categories as in photos / screenshots etc.
The map feature looks cool but doesn’t seem to be very stable.
