Description of Virtual Bar

The Virtual Bar uses the latest science to help you not only get a better understanding of how different factors affect your blood-alcohol concentration – or BAC – on an individual level, but also can help you see how your night could go depending on the food you eat, the water you drink throughout the night, and other important variables. It also helps give you a sense of how long it would take for your BAC to return to 0.00, which we think will surprise you. What’s more? The Virtual Bar will tell you how you might actually be feeling at different BAC levels to help you relate to and better understand the differences between BAC levels. That’s right, we know exactly how you’re feeling. We so get you. Try out the Virtual Bar, and help us help you help yourself. Disclaimer: This is not intended as a scientific tool for measuring Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC), but is rather designed to help adults of legal drinking age understand the factors that affect their BAC. The information presented should not take the place of your own responsible decisions about drinking alcohol, or about whether and when it will be safe for you to drive. The effects of alcohol vary among individuals because of many factors and may be different for the same person at different times. The BACs shown are solely for illustrative purposes, and do not reflect the interaction of alcohol with prescription, over-the-counter, or illegal drugs. Mixing any drug with alcohol can be dangerous to you and to others.

  • Broken App

I just downloaded this Virtual App from Apple onto iPhone 12, v16.2, and this app doesn't work at all. This App needs the developer's help right away.
I visited the developer's site and was able to use its program there, on the same iPhone, and wish I could add food, not just at the beginning, but between drinks. Also, I would like to see 45 minutes for drinking. Typically, after the first drink in 15 or 30 minutes I will "nurse" the remaining drinks the rest of the evening.

  • Cool Concept, Very Limited Options

Not worth the download. In a nutshell, I would compare this app to the app where it filled your screen with beer and when you tilted your phone, it looked like you were drinking a beer. This is very much in the conceptual phase with options being very limited. Once you’ve selected a standard drink option, your time consumption options are 1, 15, or 30 minutes. Not sure if this is based off average times or if your body processes alcohol the same after 1 minute up to 15 minutes. Which I don’t understand the limited options because what if I sip one time when I first get the drink and then chug it at the 14 minute mark? Anyway, more to be done there. And the food options, four options with a fifth being no food. A lot of work to be done there. Not sure if these are nutritionally comparable to most foods consumed while drinking, but I’m also not a nutritional expert, so I don’t know. In theory, cool idea. Please take it down and do more work and bring it back when you’ve provided more applicable options.
