Great app
It really is a helpful way to learn to type. I do have one critique, though. I used to use TapTyping, which showed me a diagram illustrating which keys I had messed up/ done well on. I think that would be a great feature to add to this app (maybe in an update).
Support is unresponsive
On my second ticket after purchasing the upgrade in the iPad app, but not getting a response after it didn’t work. Trying a bad review since working through support isn’t working.
A great app but not “free”
This is a fantastic app but it’s not free as indicated in some places.

Thank you so much for the review! We do offer free trial up to the 3rd level of the course. :)
Four stars for the app. Buying was confusing, here’s how!
I wanted to write this review to relate my experience in purchasing the Typesy app. I was a little confused in the buying process—as I first tried to buy this iOS iPad app first. Once I got the app installed on computers and now understand, I think the app itself seems very good. Four starts or higher. We’re just starting so this is no big review. The buying process, two stars or lower. I purchased this app for my wife and granddaughter who I babysit.
THE APP. Once the app is installed, you get a dashboard with your user account. Stats, progress. To get started, I clicked on the Courses button and followed the process. The learning is a combination of videos, interactive typing, games, and prompts. I like the program so far. My granddaughter was up and running quickly. The app quality is very high.
TIPS: (1) Each user should have their own “sign in” (need to know the email and the password) to take their own individual course. Once you are logged in, it remembers who you are and your progress. (2) Remember that pressing the Space Bar on Mac while watching a video, pauses, starts, and stops the video (3) If you are having trouble with accuracy and speed in the beginning, lower these settings a little. You can raise them later. The program will prompt you to repeat exercises when you make too many mistakes. Young kids will make mistakes with hitting the space bar in the wrong place—the program is good at showing you correct vs. incorrect typing.
REAL TOUCH TYPING. You are buying this app to TOUCH TYPE on a REAL KEYBOARD (sorry for the emphasis). An Apple or Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad, and your real keyboard for your computer. You are not buying this to learn to type on the touch screen virtual keyboard.
DESKTOP VERSION. Think of this as buying and paying for a license to use the desktop version of the app—Mac, WIndows, Web based. $30 full price. $26 with 10% off. I believe, You can install the app for up to five authorized users (on a single computer or on multiple computers) and a certain number of IOS devices. You need an activation code for all of this, which you get emailed when you buy the desktop or web version license. The iOS app asks for this activation code which is mailed to you.
IOS VERSION. I do not think you can buy and use the iOS app without first setting up your basic account. For myself, desktop install worked. I then considered the iOS app free. Maybe the chat agent (at Typesy.com) has an iOS only procedure.
HOW TO BUY. I went to Typesy.com and selected the Individual license app. Enter your name, email, and payment information. Write all of this down. There is often a helpful chat person on the Typesy site to help. I was confused as to installing the software on two computers, the iOS buying. The chat people were helpful and they gave me 10% off. In my opinion, once again, if you look at this like you are buying the desktop license for up to five users and a few iOS activations, then it feels like a very good value. Especially since the app seems to be quite good. A traditional, paid, learn-to-type program. $30 for just an iPad version would be expensive.
INSTALLING on SECOND COMPUTER. Confusing in how to do. I went back to Typesy.com and looked for a Download software button but could not find one. When you say buy an individual license, you get the credit card charge screen. Do not buy the software again. Get the chat agent, explain you bought the software and want to put it on a second computer. They will send you a link. Even better, copy the installer file onto the second computer, install it, and enter the activation code.
MORE THAN ONE USER ACCOUNT. A little more confusion. After you set up your first main account (myself for learning the admin), you can add your children to your account so that each person has their own course and tracking and progress pace. Instead of signing in with your account log in, click on Create Account and enter their name, email (use yours if they are young) and password—remember and write all this down. Then you are prompted for the activation code.
NO FREE TRIAL. There is apparently no free trial here, maybe due to piracy but the company website does offer a money-back guarantee. I think the company may need to find a way to make less confusing — how the licensing and installs work.
I LIKE THE APP. Once I understood all of this, I think the app is a very good one. I’m not an expert but my wife and granddaughter are learning to type.
Sorry for the long post. Bye.

Beware! No apparent Free Sample Version
Beware!!! It appears you need an activation code to use this app. After download the app, your FULL name, e-mail and a password are required for set up then after hitting enter it prompts you for your access code and won’t let you go further without one. I initially believed this would be a free trial version to sample prior to spending roughly $15 on this app, however, it won’t let me use it or log in without an access code. I could not locate any instructions about how or where to get the required access code.

Response from developer
Hi there, apologies for what happen. May I ask if you have already submitted a report to helpdesk@ereflect.com so that we can address the issue properly? :)
Learn to Type
Not able to use this app as it asks for an activation code when you try to sign up.

How do you get an activation code?
Typesy activation code
I also do not have the activation code it did not come with the download of this app. Not having this code makes the app useless for me.
