Now that devs can respond to reviews, these developers asked me to re-evaluate their updated app. I was looking forward to something much better than what I found.
I wish I could be encouraging, but frankly I feel it's still not worth using.
You can have this search any of several search engines, such as, Google, Bing, or Ask, for "$250-$500 iPhone 6s Apple", and it will supposedly return precise results.
Precision: Unfortunately, the search engines I found didn't limit their results to the specified price range.
Then, after you've opened one link, and want to try another, I found no way to return to the
search results. I could only go back to page where you select a search engine, where I was prohibited from using Google a second time. So it seems to be a limit of one link per search, per search engine.
In other words, it completely failed in the attempt to give me precise results. I'd say 1 star for precision.
Security: they claim to block 3rd party tracking. I have no idea if they delivered. 3 stars (neutral).
Selection: they claim to block ads, which will result in a better selection. This wasn't true in my experience. Searching Bing, the first 5 results were ads (and labeled as such), followed by Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. Exactly the results I get if I use mobile Safari on my iPad-- except in Safari I don't have the ads.
So basically by showing ads I normally don't see, this app does the opposite of what it claims.
I have to give negative 3 stars for this.
Overall, this app fails to be useful. It delivers ads, and doesn't allow me to view more than one link per search engine.
I stick with my original rating of 1 star. I'm very sorry, because I see some improvement from the earlier version, but not enough to recommend that anyone try it.
