Disappointing

UI is very rough, gameplay leaves a lot to be desired.
Very disappointing for the price. :(

Soooo much potential, but falls far short

At this point I have to conclude the at least half of the 11 positive reviews are the game makers. The ship handling and combat is a lot like GOF - that is the good part. There are A LOT less things to do and buy. Ships and accessories are extremely limited. There is no story line per say, just tasking so for missions. Side missions are all takes by the same character whichever system you are in. Now here is the part I find painful, the missions are all the same. Protect the Dauntless - no problem. Another mission, Dauntless wants you back - exact same scenario, number of enemies, flight direction, etc.

This game is half finished. Pity, could have been up there with the big dogs.

Want to play againโ€ฆ

Minus some glitches and random crashes, this is a fantastic game. The length is decent, and I had fun; so much fun that I'd like to play the storyline over again, but I want to be able to use the AS1 Raptor Phoba prototype, and I also want to keep my weapons, money and pilot level. Any way you could make that happen, Josh? Thanks!

Excellent!

Wing commander privateer meets Ipad

Well worth 5 bucks

Basically you are a space mercenary that can't say no to a dangerous job and the object is to blow up ships and save the Galaxy. Playing around with settings, controls, and character types is fun too.

Fun but I'm stuck!

This game is pretty good and lots of fun but can be very unforgiving at times. I am currently stuck on a story mission where you meet up with some other ships and transfer some goods only to find that it's a trap. I die instantly with no option to avoid it. If I try to dock before meeting up with the ships, I fail the mission! If I try to complete the mission, I die instantly before being able to even target a single enemy. So I don't know what else to do aside from starting over from scratch. The feeling of free roam in a fairly large universe is lost when forced to complete missions before being able to do anything else.

Space Trading Goodness!

I'm going to be honest, at first I wasn't overly impressed by the game but first impressions are often misleading. I gave some effort to get into the game and now I am swayed. There is a good space trader game underneath. It's definitely a diamond in the rough.

The Good = Flight model, Nice ships, Cockpit view, Voice acting. Dev seems very responsive to feedback.

The Stuff that needs a bit of attention = Galaxy map, some of the mission and pirate triggers.

The game is definitely worth the price and if the developer continues work on this. I think it could be an amazing game.

Fun, but could be better

I would recommend this game to anyone who has finished Galaxy on Fire 2 and wants more of the same. This game has less content but much of the same feel, especially in combat. The ability to choose different classes and customize your pilot's skill is a nice innovation only found here. I also like how the story has less juvenile humor.

There are some areas that could use improvement: 1. There are no alien races, only a few human factions that could use more differentiation in gameplay. 2. I've never been able to find better ships to buy, only different ships. This makes money less important after a while. 3. Racing is too punishing. I am currently stuck at a racing mission, and a way to complete the game without winning the race would be nice.

Epic!

Listen to me very carefully. These developers actually listen to their community! Every update so far (and they are regular) has improved playability in some way. Invest in this game. Support the developers. Go! Go blow stuff up in space already.

Easy aiming

The easy aiming is broken it works about 30% of the time. Please fix this because it is nearly impossible to play with out it! Over all from what little progress I am able to make its a good game.
