Terrible Customer Service and Cam Outage

The Kiama surf cam has been down for months. I’ve tried contacting Swellnet to see what’s going on as it’s the only cam I use. I have heard nothing and there has been no attempt to fix the issue. It has been 2-3 months and the cam is still down - I would not recommend Swellnet to anyone.

Hi Bill, we've had some issues with the Kiama cam, but all fixed and we've got 2 cams there now - Kiama and Kiama Wedge. Please try again and let us know if you are satisfied.

Terrible service

The app doesn’t deliver the service they promise. 8 times out of 10 the app would send an error message or say that there is an issue with the camera. I don’t recommend to purchase this app. I have heard better consumer experience from other forecasting providers. Terrible experience with Swellnet

Cameras don’t work as you would expected.

The app it very confusing also cameras don’t work half of the time. There is always a camera down, and for reason in the mornings you can assure you will have trouble login in or checking a surf spot. I am happy to keep supporting but no improvement on these issues along the years.

Bring back comprehensive spot menu view

It would be good if the full surf spot/ location menu was visible in the mobile app, similar to what is viewable in the desktop app. It used to be a feature in the earlier app version. If I want to search for a spot but I’m not sure what region it’s under, it’s difficult to search on. I have to resort to the desktop app. Also, if I want to browse any region to see where the surf is good say if I was planning a trip, this is also difficult.

Thanks for the feedback Bort411. We are looking at other options for searching locations and cams, these will be included in future updates of the app.

Has problems finding any location

Every time I search for a surf spot, it will always say it had a problem finding location

You mean tide graphs? We'll see if we can fit something in (have presently gone for tables as we can fit in more info/more days)

New version looks great

Used to have issues with the app login, so just used the website. Finally logged in to the new version 2, looks great!

Hi Gibs, if you've subscribed through the App Store you don't need to sign into your Swellnet account for access. Do you mind signing out through the app's menu (don't sign back in) and then giving "Restore Purchases" a press? Which email did you contact us at? If you can email us at ios-feedback@swellnet.com - I'll be able to help you directly. 👍

Greedy trash with ads.

App doesn’t function properly always asking for upgraded account. Do not recommend.

Our app is mainly focused on our subscriber base. If you have an existing public account from our website, you can sign in with that and save locations to your favourites for free. Surfcams are paid only right now, but forecasts and reports are still useful and free.
