Decent-But At A Price
A common problem with apps such as these is the commercials often do not insert into the program’s “donut”, which makes for a jarring experience.
Xumo is smooth, so smooth that you watch an ad before you can do anything. And worse, you can’t leave the app until it is done which I find unacceptable.
Two stars until I can back out, being forced to watch advertisements to return to the AppleTV main menu is an anti-pattern that destroys any value.Show lessHerman Hollerith
Not very good. Crazy amount of ads
Everything you do in the app causes lots of ads to play. Start a movie, watch several ads. Accidentally hit the back button, a bunch more ads coming your way. Need to fast forward because of terrible playback issues within the app, yup you guessed it more+more ads. When your finally done with your ad break, wait there’s actually more ads on each channel that are separate from in-app ads =) You can’t make this stuff up. I would not use this service unless it was the only service available.Show lesscloser0

It’s good
I am new to xumo and I am enjoying it so far I am currently only watching one show, but there are some bugs I think still need to be fixed for one, it does not have a continued watching feature for your on-demand shows and movies and when I go back to find the show that I was watching, it doesn’t show that I have already watched the episodes and when I press play, it’ll start the show from the beginning instead of playing the next episode, I need to watch I think that would be extremely helpful or not just me but others who watch your shows and movies but I also like the fact that it has limited commercials, so that is a bonus but another issue that you should consider taking a look at is during the preview for the next episode. It will play a commercial at the same time and it’s kind of hard to pay attention to the preview for the next episode and the commercial at the same time. I hope it doesn’t do that which shows that have recaps as well. but the app is a great idea and just throwing it out there, but the category for continue watching could be called resumeShow lesssleepy hollow fan 96
No way to exit a playing video
I started playing a video but couldn’t find any way to stop it and return to the previous menu. Makes the entire program totally useless. The only way I’ve found is to press the home button, double press the home button to bring up a listing of recently ran programs. Then swipe up on XUMO to do a force close to force it out of memory. Just how do you stop a video from playing so you can look for something else to play? Because after 5 to 7 minutes of looking I never found it.Show lessJohn Goodin

Five stars except for closed captioning not working reliably which I’m finding with other mobile apps as well. Comes on when it wants to which leaves the disabled at a disadvantage.Indie_Lady
