I have Bitsboard and like it, but sometimes difficult to use as there are so many choices within it. I like how just one category is broken down in this app!

Very versatile!
This app works very well for my students and I, I only give it 4 stars because sometimes the audio does not correctly correspond to the flash card I have up.
Perfect for my reluctant reader
I homeschool four of my seven kids and for various reasons, one child has really struggled with reading. She's now much older than the typical emerging reader and doesn't want to play on "baby" apps for little kids. It's a daily struggle to get her to practice phonics. Enter the CVC app. She loves this one and asks to use it, which is remarkable with her. Specifically, she likes typing in the words that come up and the matching exercise. I think typing makes her feel more grown-up. There are many ways to practice, though, and an extensive list of word families. It's a perfect complement to Explode the Code and our readers. My kindergartener likes it too, but I had to install it on another device so he gets a chance to play!

Speech therapy
As a speech therapist, I love this app for vowel practice. It is not often, but sometimes kids have vowel errors and this is a great bank of words to practice for them. Even though it's not designed for this it works great! Each group has several different activities that really keep kids engaged while still getting in the high number of repetitions they need.

Good beginning spelling app!
I like that it's organized in word families so you can choose your focus. Lots of different activities. Great for jk or struggling beginner.

Preschool speech tx..great to use the word families for speech sounds as well as rhyming...nice pictures and short games..to keep things moving

Great app for beginning readers. Lots of choice for activities means variety they won't get bored with. I love that you can customize it for whatever you are working on.
