Great interface, unfortunate hiccups
One thing I’m not a fan of is when the app force closes routinely when working in the clients section. Quite a nuisance, but still enjoy the platform so far.
No Time Tracking or entry?
Promising But Falls Short
I evaluated the product and really liked many features. So I purchased an annual license. I really liked being able to set a DNS entry for my domain and the email sending tools are top notch. There are many other great features.
However, after sitting down to write my first batch of invoices I found a fatal flaw - there is no way of sorting time entries at all. I need to be able to distinguish between uninvoiced time entries and invoiced time entries, but this is not possible. I generate 4-5 time entries per day so this would get real unruly real fast. No way to sort by any other criteria either. I tried to get around this shortcoming with the use of tags, but there is no way to remove a tag once one has been set. So think twice before adding a tag because that tag is there to stay.
There is also a really annoying behavior with adding time entries. I’m a big user of the tab key so as to move the cursor from one field to another, and with Hiveage, upon pressing the tab key after entering data into the last field in series, the entire entry is cancelled and one must start over and not forget to use the mouse to apply the time entry.
They did refund my $300 without any friction, so I increased my otherwise 3-star review to 4 stars.
