Sound Boxes 1.0.6 Update • Added: it’s now possible to tap in each sound box to enter 1 to 3 characters. • Modified the methods for entering and deleting letter combinations in the Sound Boxes and on the Options screen. • Fixed several “idiosyncrasies” that bugged me. • Fixed a problem that kept the Options Icon (the “Gear”) from being displayed in the menu. • And, I fixed a spelling error in the instructions... I left out the “L” in alphabet... when I shared that error with my youngest son, he replied, “How ironic.” Yes, very... Anyway, as time allows I’d enjoy hearing how you’ve made use of the app and would appreciate any thoughts for improvement.

  • Needs sound

How are you supposed to teach phonics without sounds?
  • Add a few more boxes

I just found this app. I am a home tutor working mostly with dyslexic kids. I can’t wait to use this with my word building lessons. I wold love to see a few more boxes on the top! THANK YOU
  • Really good just needs sound.

Just because one thing is off this doesn’t deserve one star. I am Orton-Gillingham trained teacher and this is exactly what I have been looking for. Teaching phonemic awareness and decoding is the best way to teach early reading. Just get the sound working and I could see this in a lot of classrooms. Nice work thus far.
