Leave a Review Place To Write
To be in Heaven on iPadOS 14.2
This beautiful app was initially introduced on the Mac as “Haven.”
But my spelling was never to good.
This is one of the most beautiful apps ever designed.
It’s a whole series of little worlds that locks you out of the stresses of the world in order to surround you with sights and sounds and total relaxation while you write - six countries in all!
First, your given a location wallpaper in which to type on. It could be a night sky in Berlin or a shoreline sunset in Madeira or a foggy day in some far off island just off Norway.
Next, you’re given the repeating sounds of people conversing in a nighttime cafe. Or the quite lull of waves gentely lapping off the shore. Or perhaps it’s rainfall on a cold winter night.
Next, choose the sound of your typewriter keys: traditional electric, tappy, or iPad.
Wouldn’t you want to write this way?
And now you’re ready to write.
Wow!System’s “A Place to Write” is more than just a word processor. It’s a whole little world you can be yourself...and write!
Let’s go somewhere now.Show lessGood
I really like the idea behind this app, and it makes writing really fun! I love the background music you can choose, and the typing noises are so satisfying! The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t use em dashes (unless I just haven’t found the right button yet, though I doubt it). Apart from that, however, the keyboard does seem to have a wide variety of symbols, even more than the normal iPad keyboard (if that makes sense).Show lessThe pricing for extra features is a rip off
I originally bought the MacOS version of this app and I loved it. This has really helped me center my focus when writing. No lines, boxes or rulers, just an open space for me to write and let the words flow.
Once I found out they had an iOS version I had to get it only to be disappointed. The base price for this app is 0.99 cents but then you have to pay for all the features and the prices goes way up.
Want to change the themes? That 3.99
How about a writing timer (which I do writing sprints daily) that’s another 2.99
What about the creative tools? Another 2.99
This brings the sum total to a whopping $10.96 when I only had to pay $5.99 to get all of these features not he MacOS version! I like this app and will continue to use it but I will not be paying for al these extra features on the iOS version. Ill make due with the free features until I get home to my Mac.
To the Developer: Please pick one reasonable price to offer these features and I will gladly upgrade to the premium features. But there is no reason the iOS version should be nearly 2x the price of the MacOS version.Show lessLooks good to write on
but to buy all the tools looks to be expensive.
maybe i will wait till the keyboard comes out. matter a fact, why not you guys create the keyboard. look at this?
No capital letter after each period. wow. not good. no microphone either. whats wrong with this pict?A lot of potential but obvious flaws
I really like the idea of this app and it looks like it could have a lot of potential, but its usefulness is limited by the massive keyboard that sits on top of everything! Please change the app so that the keyboard disappears when I'm using an external one - there's not much point in unlocking extra themes or additional content when I can't see anything behind a useless keyboard!Show lessReally nice app
This handy writing app has a ton of cool features like animated backgrounds, built in soundtracks, character and plot generators etc.
The interface is slick, and I love the minimalist feel of the app. My only problem is the special keyboard, I can't figure out how to use it to make quotation marks etc. I tried using the shift key to no avail, and not being able to properly use the keyboard is a deal breaker for me.Show lessGreat, unless you use a Bluetooth keyboard
This is really a lovely writing app. I love the themes and sounds and fun extras, but I hate on-screen keyboards, so I use a Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad Mini for writing, and this app doesn't allow me to hide the on-screen keyboard when writing, even if I'm using a Bluetooth keyboard. That's a huge dissapointment. I hope that's addressed in the next version.Show lessGreat app
With a gorgeous look&feel I really enjoy using this app. Already own the Mac version and this is quite a nice addition! Takes a bit to get familiar with the keyboard but it is worth it
