  • Word of day not interesting

I don’t find word of day helpful in building my vocabulary
  • The Usage Panel Makes This Dictionary Outstanding.

You learn more than definitions; you get insight into how words are used and applied.
  • Again?!?!!

They keep making me buy this program. Probably I never will again. This is maybe the fourth or fifth time. Not even a discount for owning a previous version. And they still keep asking me to rate the program on the opening page - just moved from three to two stars for this.
  • Decent but not complete

Your word of the day option, which doesn’t always fire daily, continues to display the same word of the day: jig (2)
  • Falls short if expectations

Had great expectations for this app, however, I was let down. Some worlds are missing origin explanations. Pronunciation icon does not work. I have compared entry descriptions to a free, online program and the free, online program is more complete. I would look for another app to spend money on next time. Disappointing.

  • Poor support

I have bought this program three times. When it works it’s great the first time I upgraded my phone program stopped working never got it working again. The second time I bought version five been working good. I had to get a new iPhone because my phone stopped working. Now the Dictionary doesn’t work again. Contacted support, got one reply, still not working, sent email again, no reply. Program still not working. Wouldn’t be so bad if it had an a costed me $25 each time.

Hey, Mike! Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it!
  • Great but has its errors

This is a great app. I love the ability to search the terms offline. However, there is one error that disturbs me that has resulted in the 3-star rating. I save a particular term in my favorites. When I retrieve the term from the favorites, it shows a similar term (e.g. Impart instead of interpose) rather than the actual saved word. This is frustrating especially since I paid money to download the full version. Please resolve this issue so I can increase the rating.

  • Great BUT...

The pronunciation doesn't work, even though the symbol is present. Other than that, so far so good.
  • Frustrating Flaws in App Implementation

Like many others who have commented, I'm a longtime fan of the AH Dictionary, and have had to purchase it numerous times, at considerable expense, as it has migrated from app to app. Like others, I'm very annoyed by the repeated request to rate the app with 5 stars, which is absolutely ridiculous for a responsible software maker. The bigger problem, though, is that while traveling in Europe recently I discovered that the app refused to open if I wasn't logged on to the Internet...which defeats the whole purpose of carrying an offline dictionary on one's phone. PLEASE allow this app to work even when one is connected to the Internet!!! This is a HUGE bug that truly needs fixing.

    Developer Response

Hello, thank you for your comment. The app is only redirecting toward rate dialog after a new update is available, which helps us get feedback form our users. You should be able to access the content of the dictionary offline, as this is a paid app. Please contact us at support@mobisystems.com with more details on the problem so we could assist you in resolving any issues.
  • Boom. Rated.

I hate the fact that I have to keep buying this dictionary. As a Dictionary it is really wonderful… I use it a ton. However, every time they have a new version, you have to buy the new version. I'm addicted enough to keep buying it, but I feel extremely taken advantage of every time.
