Version History of BEGA Gateway

1.8.3

December 12, 2019

New Features: - For devices which support instantaneous demand (W) and accumulated energy consumption (Wh) you can now switch between the two by tapping on the value. Notice that some products will reset the accumulated energy consumption after a restart while others will maintain the value across restarts - For devices that support energy consumption metering but don't support instantaneous power metering, aggregated energy consumption will be displayed by default - Now honoring scaling factors for metering values (results in correct metering values for sengled bulbs and OBLO smart plugs, for instance) - Aligned to new behavior of stacked views in iOS 13 - On the iPad, the navigation bar is shown automatically when the app starts in portrait mode. Also, tapping on the background image will show the navigation bar Bug-fixes: - Resolved an issue, which could result in connection problems when connecting to large facilities - Rectified an error, which would result in scene push buttons not being detected properly - Rectified an error, which would result in app crashes

New Features: - If there is only one facility available the app will automatically connect (one attempt) - Display last activity time-stamp in detail views of the component list (for all devices) and tag devices with overdue inbound activity as "inactive" - Devices, which have not been completely discovered will be tagged in the component list such that they can be manually rediscovered using the device synchronization feature (requires Gateway Firmware 2.0.3 or later) - Manual device repair feature: Restore the configuration of a device based on its settings stored in the inventory. In the component list, swipe left on any row and tap on the gear wheel to start device synchronization in the direction from inventory to device. The opposite direction, refreshing the inventory based on actual device settings, is available by swiping down in the detail view of a component - Let a device identify: In the component list, swipe left on any row and tap on the flag; all logical application endpoints will enter identify mode for 10 seconds. It is also possible to identify specific endpoints by swiping left on the particular endpoint in the detail view of the component and tapping on the flag. This feature is also available in the endpoint selection view presented when creating bindings or groups. It is also possible to identify an entire group by swiping left in the group list and tapping on the flag - Now showing manufacturing date and software build identifier in the component detail view - In the building control, unnamed devices will now be displayed using a placeholder assembled from the serial number (EUI-64) and logical endpoint number Bug fixes: - Rectified an error, which could result in duplicate entries in the inventory and as a consequence the inability to edit symbols - Improved display of the temperature range for thermostats - Rectified an issue, where the app could crash if the facility selection view was closed without an active selection

Bug fixes and performance improvements

1.6.1

October 27, 2017

This version adds significant new features. Security system with push notifications, sirens, and support for keypads and key fobs. Just add suitable sensors (door/window contacts, motion detectors, smoke detectors, heat detectors, CO-detectors, leakage detectors, concussion sensors, panics buttons, etc.) and warning devices (sirens), keypads and key-fobs to assemble a security system that ideally suits your requirements. The system offers three arming modes: arm away, arm home/night, and arm home/day with individually configurable alarm zones. Users receive notifications for alarms, when the system is armed or disarmed, a security device requires maintenance or attention, etc. A new peer-to-peer service, called ubisys P2P, provides easy and secure remote access while on the road. Just scan the QR-code on the rear of your gateway. Until now, a public IP address (static or dynamic), a dynamic DNS service and manual configuration of port-forwarding in your internet router or a VPN tunnel were required for remote access. This new service is free for all customers. The existing options remain available and have been expanded: It is possible to enter static IPv6 addresses, Gateways are stored using their host name in the local network ("bega-g1-xyz.local", where xyz is the serial number of your gateway) and existing address entries can also be deleted. Commissioning of shutter controls ubisys J1 and J1-R: Choose the appropriate type of window covering, projector screen or motorized window and calibrate the range. The ubisys Network Manager and ZigBee/USB dongle are typically no longer required for the initial setup. Show battery-level of devices that support this feature. Shows either remaining battery as percentage or battery voltage, depending on model and firmware revision of your products. The hint indicating push notifications that arrive while the app is in the foreground are now displayed differently (less obtrusive than in the previous version). Added languages: Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Some new features require gateway firmware version 1.6.3 or above. Usage of the ubisys P2P service requires a BEGA Smart Home Gateway model which installation code on the back. If your model does not have such a code printed, please get in touch with our support team – we can add this capability to your device via remote maintenance. We have further increased stability and fixed a number of errors.

Description of BEGA Gateway

The BEGA Gateway app allows you to dim lights, switch sockets on and off, regulate shading, measure your power consumption and many other things. The components form a wireless Zigbee network and can be operated by smartphone and tablet via the BEGA Gateway 70588. Of course you can still use all existing switches to turn your lights on and off. Devices can also be grouped together and incorporated into scenarios of your choosing. With the push of a button you will experience the perfect feelgood atmosphere or the ideal working environment. Using the "Leave home" scenario you can switch off all non-essential consumers. Existing switches and push buttons can be configured to switch on and off various other consumers, dimm the lights, recall scenes etc. To be able to use the app you will require BEGA Gateway 70588 as well as an assortment of ZigBee components.
