A few months ago I deleted the app
This was not an easy decision.
I had previously had a lot of fun with Pokémon Go. It got me exploring and seeing places that I otherwise wouldn’t’ve. Not to mention as far as I can discover, this is the game that so far comes the closest to being able to let you pretend that you actually have a Pokémon buddy.
The reason why I deleted the app was solely because of the new Terms of Service that was released earlier this year, that gave Niantic the “permission” to read our phones files wherever they felt like it.
I know that ostensibly, this is to catch cheaters. And to be clear, I myself do not know enough about programming to even attempt to do the things Niantic would be looking for.
However, I refuse to give a private company carte blanche to invade my privacy.

Fun moments equal disappointment
I’ve been with this game since 2016 and it’s been fun. Don’t get me wrong I’ve experienced a lot of enjoyable moments and probably still will. I’ve seen players concerns about the cap on remote raids and the catching difficulties. I’m on the road work wise and life wise. When I’m a passenger it shouldn’t limit me from playing the game and I feel this game does that. Multiple moments where I use a razz berry and a curved excellent throw with an ultimate just to have the Pokémon break the first ding and flee. I think it’s toxic just my opinion but I know players who’ve played for years that share the same grief. Would be nice if the devs would work harder to enhance the experience rather than trying to limit those who don’t live in super populated cities where exclusive events occur mostly. At this point I feel likes it’s catering to an elite few and it’s just a game. Don’t make it difficult. I’ve had my ups and downs with this and I hate to see it go down the drain further.
Update to Review: I’m glad the daily remote raid cap went from 3 to 5. That’s taking it somewhere.
Still have issues with the golden razz berries on raids. 15-16 balls in, breaks and flees. Excellent throws, great throws, nice throws it don’t matter. I’ve caught legendaries without making those which is wild. Truly rng but the golden berries should be better

Why I’m in love with this game.
First off, I LOVE Pokémon go. Its design, the gyms, the raids and everything. Even the Team Rocket grunts saying “I need to catch some Z’s!”. With augmented reality and how long it’s been standing around for, it’s really old. Though there are some things I want changed about it. When a grunt sends out his bug Pokémon, I had a difficulty spike (minor, but still hard it took me like a few tries to beat him) with Scyther, even when I had a Gengar with CP 1537. I do also want the game to feature other community days focused on idk something like Beldum? Another part I do want improved on is the entry part of the game where you can run out of Poké balls, so you either have to stockpile them by daily free boxes or buying them from the store. The daily free boxes kinda are a bit useless as they only give you an Ultra Ball if you’re lucky or a Great Ball, but usually a potion or a Razz Berry, and 1 or 2 Poké balls. The weather system isn’t always accurate, and the eeveelution is always kinda confusing for me, but I do appreciate it. And the battle leagues get nerfed from time to time but usually they come back in like a week or so. Overall, a really good game. I’d keep on playing it for a long time, and I do frequently play it. So yeah, that’s it for now.

Mostly good… but
Now I love this game but there are a few problems with it, I mean it’s great because you get out of the house more and walk about a lot but there are some problems. PROBLEM 1 The game randomly signs you out. Once I was about to play Pokémon go when I had all 3 galarian birds, a shiny gyarados and a mewtow and I went to play Pokémon go just to see that it had signed me out! Even when I put the password for my account in it didn’t work, I was devastated that I had to restart so please fix this problem. PROBLEM 2 Poke coins. First of all I’m not trying to say that it’s a bad idea but I just think they are a bit expensive and the things you buy with poke coins are even worse so please could you lower the prices. PROBLEM 4 This is my biggest issue with the game… hackers, when I go into a trainer battle people I’m playing against have more than three Pokémon, can use their special move without a cooldown or just take all my Pokémon out with one hit and I don’t mean one hit each, I mean one hit all together so Niantic please PLEASE sort out the hacker problem (and all the others too but mostly the hacker problem)

Great game but a few issues
Pokemon Go is a fun way to go outside and have fun with your friends, Defeating raids, Team Rocket, and Gym battles. Although there is one slight problem. Pokemon go is a very well developed game but all I need to say is how expensive the Raid passes are. I’m charging 195 Poke Coins for 1 Remote Raid pass. The Worst thing about this is you loss that raid pass if you don’t defeat the Pokemon you are battling in a raid. Pokemon go would be better if you loss that raid pass once you defeat the boss. One more thing is that the Item bag and Pokemon Storage is far to low. I know this will take a long time do to but I think the max amount of Storage you should be able to hold is around 20,000 items and Pokemon.
Pokemon is a great game and I will still be playing this game I hope Niantic read this and make these issues better Thank You!!

Love the game
This game is quality, the effects and gameplay this game is basically the only reason I go out to touch grass at all lol, anyways if Natanic keeps tracking on the way they are right now this game will forever be something fantastic in the gaming world, I don’t understand why there are so many one star reviews, they are probably just some kids that are mad because they didn’t catch their favorite Pokémon.
I would suggest maybe changing the match making system turning battle leagues because right now it just seems to be some random person x10 more powerful than you that is close to your location rather than Pokémon that match your CP level.
Another thing is maybe if the Devs could make a system where when you finish a research task or a part of it the task could be marked or highlighted for it to be easier to be found because over the years I have had a lot of research tasks pile up and every time I complete one I have to individually flick through each one to find it.
Overall a FANTASTIC game would really recommend it to other people trying to find an excuse to go outside and it really motivates you to travel with the different certain Pokémon you can find in different countries.

My review fun but there are some things that should be fixed
This game is so good but the iOS is an issue I have an iPhone 6 and I can’t login to any of my accounts on my other iPhone or my laptop through bluestacks X they just send me out and on my iPhone the just say update the app to continue so can you pls just change the iOS to 12. Otherwise the game is good but of the skiny rates I have been grinding for 2 years now and only got 8 shiny Pokémon but I am happy about the second cosmog and the regigigas I got from my Giovanni encounter for completing the go tour time and space reasearch but I am so confused in each of mystic 7s videos they get hundreds of shinys per walk and I get 8 in 2 years pls increase the shiny rates and legendary rates. The Pokémon go plus is a device which catches Pokémon for free but it cost 60 usd that is expensive and it makes it a pay to win game. Now lets talk about trades the trade distance is so small and I want to trade with friends up to 40 km away and I am not going to specially meet a friend just for a trade so pls make it longer.
Another issue is that there are only 2 Pokemon that spawn in my area a day can you increase the spawn rates

WOW
this is not what I expected when I first joined the game. It was hard to login because you had all these pins and names but when you’re in it’s like amazing whenever I do have a request that when you’re in a battle against someone else randomly in the world, when you finished the battle, you can catch one of the Pokémon without taking it off them that would be cool because they might have a super cool Pokémon or super lame one anyway the reason I give it five stars is because even if you’re locked out even if you’ve closed the app it’s still record you’re walking so it’ll still hatch eggs and it just amazing it’s not a game you sit on and play because I do you have to walk around that’s what it does. It makes people get outside and want to walk and catch new Pokémon and hatch amazing eggs and that’s the joy of the game knowing that people are getting outside to play game so that they can get more fitness and health in, overall it is one of my favourite games and I hope everyone enjoys it too💗👍👍👍👍👍

Something yall need to add
I love how much work you guys have done. This is by far my favorite game I’ve ever played. People have to force me off of it just to pay attention to other things. You guys make sure your players don’t get bored so you are many many events. I live off of Pokémon go. I have bought merch, auto catchers, and many other stuff. I have one problem though. My friends and I always play Pokémon go but we always run out of mega energy doing raids. One thing that I know a lot of people want are rare mega energy. Same thing as rare candy and rare candy XL, but for Pokémon that can mega evolve. Normally you see Pokémon in mega raids and they are out for a while. And a lot of them are legendary Pokémon. So you don’t see them for even longer. And you have to wait so long when you don’t have mega energy and you are waiting for the rest period. But you can walk with them as your buddy to get more. But for legendary you have to walk 20km to get only 100 mega energy. But to fix the problem you can add rare mega energy/rare primal energy. Then the players can mega evolve easier for raids, battling friends, and battling team leaders. Please add it. It’s especially hard for people have have Pokémon that they want to mega evolve but live in places with almost no gyms. Please add it. It would make peoples lives a lot easier.

Best game ever
I been playing since 2024 but I am lvl 46 bcuz the events have been amazing like primal Kroger and Groudon dialga and palkia also shadow mewtwo and Lugia also all spotlight hours have boosted shiny rates and 2x exp and sometimes 2x stardust so just need star piece and lucky egg for getting lot of level also if there is 5* raid during the spotlight hour u get 20k exp instead of 10k also if u use lucky egg u get 40k or smth near that . Also the boosted shiny rates on the raid only 1/20 or 1/10 but then normal 5* is 1/512 if no event smth and mega Rayquaza was best in shared skies season cuz I got 4 shiny and 2 lucky from friends and then shadow lugia got 8 shiny in 30 raids honestly that’s super good even though 1/20 shiny rates also world of wonders shadow mewtwo was best got 1 shiny but I only need 1 because mewtwo is one of my fav pokemon also reshiram and zekrom I’m still waiting but u need to wait because they are super good raid counters so it might release in December or November this game is amazing I hope this gets more updates!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
