A Must-Have for Tracking Rain and Weather!
It’s especially helpful for those days when I need to head out, and I can time it perfectly to avoid getting caught in the rain. The colour coding makes it easy to tell the intensity of the rain, and the animations are smooth and reliable. It’s like having my own personal weather assistant.
For anyone who works outdoors, commutes, or just enjoys staying informed, the BOM radar is a game-changer. It’s accurate, easy to use, and has become a tool I rely on every single day. Five stars without a doubt!

Thank you for your review and rating. We are glad to read you are enjoying the app.
Quite good but could be improved.
The radar rain map is very good. Could the Himawari satellite images for the previous few hours be presented in the same way as the radar map please?
Generally ok app, but three things need improvement
Sometimes the app shows “Rain” for periods of a day (under “Today” or “Tomorrow”) and under the “Rain” section shows “chance of at least 0mm”. In my book that means there is no rain and therefore the rain icon under “Today” or “Tomorrow” shouldn’t be shown.
It’s useful to sometimes show the weather as it was before now, maybe even up to yesterday or a week ago. However, this app just discards everything that is before “now”.
In the past decades the Australian government has been hammering home the message of UV protection. While the app shows a “Max UV Index” it would be for more valuable to know not only when that hits, but also at what the UV index is at what times of the day – similar to temperature, rain, wind etc.
Fantastic weather app but…
Ended up having to use a different app for rain which is insanely more accurate at predictions and probability. The major winning feature is that it will send you a notification warning you of incoming rain anywhere from 15-45 ahead of your current location. And it will accurately forecast alerts warning you of potential rain from even the lightest patchy drizzle to downpour.( It’s saved our washing so many times)
So…. If you wanna implement something like that into the B.O.M that’d be absolutely fantastic 😁
Vital resource.
As a photographer, rainfall predictions are particularly important. I use the “live” radar for this. I put that in inverted commas, because I have noticed a bit of timing discrepancy, in that the rain pattern is ahead of the prediction slightly, I realize this must be difficult to predict.
I wish the BOM app hadn’t gone to an unnecessarily complicated rain probability model, with multiple percentages for each hour, way too nerdy, please keep it simple. Otherwise, a great app, with lots of valuable information.
