Great app to get colors and color pallets from photos. Instead of apps that choose the colors for you (and usually does a poor job of it), this one allows you to choose the colors yourself!
This sounds like a paid review but I promise you it's not. I wish I did get paid for leaving reviews! Just a guy who found this app one day.

Really glad you enjoyed the app Wizard! π« Thanks for the review πI am a want to be artist with several photos I've taken of scenes I'd like to paint. I think this app might be really useful in breaking down the many colors within a photo so I'm playing with the app to see how it works. I don't know if this is something I should know so please forgive me for asking but along with each color are numbers and letters.. I'm pretty sure the letters stand for the colors (B-blue G-green etc) but what do the numbers stand for??

Hi Jammjenn! Glad you're enjoying the app π. The numbers you see next to each color are first: a HEX value (#FFFFFF) and second an RGB value (R: 255 G: 255 B: 255). These numbers are commonly used by designers to represent colours on a screen, and can be input into various design software. And you guessed right, R is for RED, G for Green, B for Blue. The HEX value is actually just a base 16 representation of the same RGB value, so instead of using 0...9 the numbers are represented 0...9, A, B, C...F. So 255 becomes FF. We also have plans to add support for CMYK values, used by print designers, in the future. I hope that answers your question! π π«I really love the idea of this app but i think if you could move the pallet vertically also and switch where you want the colors that would make this app even more awesome!
Why is there no option to build a palette without using a picture? I don't always need to take colors from a picture. In fact, most of the time I know what colors I want use to create a palette.
This is a very aesthetic app and is great for your themes! Its simple and easy to use. However i wish there was an option to place your palette in other areas or minimize the size of your palette.

Hey Ema! Glad you like the app, and that's a great idea for a new feature π, we'll definitely look into it for future updates. Thanks! πI just want to know why wouldn't there be a feature to upload your own photo for inspiration. OR any fashion inspiration photos ?? I downloaded this to figure out what colors I wanted to use for an upcoming collection. Those features would have literally made this app perfect! Please fix..

π Hey Chels585! Good news! If you swipe over to the Camera view there's a 'πPhotos' button on the left side that will let you select from any photo you have saved on your camera roll, which you can then use to make a new palette. Hope that helps, and happy Paletting! π¨My two favorite color palette apps aren't in the iTunes store any more, so I had t find a replacement. This one is fast and easy. The palettes saved show the photos and the colors RGB and hex codes. You touch the photo and when you get the color you want to save to the palette, you click the camera circle. Great for artists and designers.
Great app. Would be better is HSB/V, CMYK and Pantone color information were supported. I love that it has HEX and RGB but it makes the app useless most of the time for me. I could probably convert from RBG to HSB but it would be nice to have in an app. Wouldn't mind paying at most $2 for those options. It's better than Adobe Create though.
So useful, so easy. Only note is that it can be difficult to see exactly where my fingertip is on a picture, but that doesn't matter much, because the clearly displays the color being extracted. Bravo.
