Reviews of News

  • Easy to navigate

I like that I can read the paper in “newspaper” form or I can get to breaking news. Also easy to find past issues.
  • It’s good to have a local paper

I began subscribing to the News Gazette when I lived in Albuquerque. We had decided to move to Urbana and I wanted to become familiar with the area. Millie Otto’s column is sweet, though I wonder if she’s getting tired of writing it. I’ve always wondered why local news spends so much coverage on sports and so little on the arts. The Mailbag is a favorite of mine. I hope all the high school reporting turns the youngsters into regular consumers of the news. The editorial slant is conservative but the letters to the editor provide some balance. Generally, I believe it’s a good newspaper.
  • A gem

Champaign is so lucky to have high quality local journalism like the News-Gazette. The app feels just like I have the paper on my ipad. Great paper, great app.
