The best photo effects app ever

I love this app! Ever since I got it I've been addicted, making stunning images one after the other. A couple of nice features are, you can import existing photos and edit them rather than having to use the camera, and you can adjust the intensity level for each effect on your picture. I send people pictures and they freak out completely and think I'm some kind of genius, but I have to say, the genius is the developer of this app, it's just amazing. Don't even think twice about getting Prisma, it's the best thing I ever bought.

(Update: please,please update the app! It crashes when I try to open it and I really love your filters better than anything else out there! I’m so sad not to be able to use it!)

What even is this?

You cannot edit a photo without picking an absolutely awful, "style". You cannot opt out, their distasteful filters are forced upon you. Do not bother.

One app for another

As a paid member I don’t need to be reminded every time I launch this app that you have a better app (lensa) to use instead of this one. You want people to pay more for updated features in a different app. How annoying. Let paid members not to have the advertising.

Not working for 20 months iPad Air 2

Prisma Labs have known since June/July 2022 that this app will not run on several models of iPad. Something to do with no way for the app to be granted permission to access Photos. App store will tell you it is compatible with your iPad. It is propably NOT. I have wasted two 12-month Prisma annual subscription terms waiting for a fix that has never happened. You have been warned. Feb 2023 update - Just received a developer response to my review suggesting I contact Prisma support. I *have* contacted Prisma support on three seperate occasions since the app stopped working in mid-2022, each time been told that they are working on a fix for the problem. It still doesnt run on iPad OS 15.x on an iPad Air 2.

Hi! The problem on the iPads hasn't been fixed :( We apologize if it causes much trouble! Could you remind us if you tried to reinstall the app? For this, it is necessary to delete the app from the device and upload it from the App Store again. Reinstalling, photos from the Prisma gallery will be deleted but if photos are kept in the iPhone gallery, you can import them and edit them in Prisma again. We will wait for the update on the review!

Hello! To check the details, we will need additional information. Please open "Settings" —- "Send feedback" —- "I want to share an idea", copy the text from the automatically generated letter and send it to us with a video screen showing the app's behavior. If you can't contact us via the app, it means the email address hasn't been added to your Apple ID account but it can be fixed :) Please try to add the email address via instructions from Apple's official website (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201320).

New Updates are Ruining this App

I’ve loved this app for as long as I can remember— from its inception it strategically placed itself at the crossroads of art and technology; it was symbol of wholesome innovation, human ingenuity. But over the past few years that’s changed drastically. Slowly, Prisma has been “removing” art styles (the defining feature of the app) and putting them behind a paywall. I personally once had over 50 pictorial options available to me; now I only have 15. At this point, upwards of 90% of the potential art formats are seemingly locked behind this frustrating, ill-advised paywall.

I understand that Prisma needs to make money, but implementing occasional ads, for instance, is far preferable to limiting app functionality so severely that users are forced to pay or leave. That’s what Prisma feels like now and it’s a shame— I’ve been using the app for years and for the first time ever I’m inclined to download a free rip-off and delete this once-essential original. I hope the current course is corrected sooner rather than later.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. With the free version of Prisma, you have access to some art styles, and you can save photos in SD (standard definition) format. The best part is that there's no limit to the number of photos you can edit. Enjoy creating artistic photos!
