Excellent free tuner

After trying many of the free app-based tuners, I have settled on VitalTuner for my needs when I don’t have my Korg clip-on at hand. This tuner is fast, simple to use and above all, quite accurate- in my opinion it is more accurate than the “most popular” guitar tuner on the App Store ( the one named after a fish...). I’m extremely picky about the accuracy of my tuning, and VitalTuner gets me closer than any other free app tuner I have tried. I do still tweak slightly by ear after using any tuner, because I tune by pitch beats and can hear them using harmonics. Good app!

Yes, we definitely pride ourselves on accuracy, so I'm happy to hear that it's serving you well in that regard. VITALtuner tunes at an extremely high level of accuracy of ±0.1 cent. That’s a margin of error that is 1,000 times smaller than a half step! 👌

It’s alright

An app that does what it says it does, a super basic interface with no tools unless you pay money. Tools being standard tuning, choosing what instrument you want to tune etc. The “easy” tuning (for beginners) is behind a paywall. Maybe giving away basics, and charging for people who learn and grow would be a better model. Decided to get a different app that is slightly more straightforward.

Still the absolute best, period!

I’ve been playing guitar for about 20 years. Rock, jazz, blues, some country. I actually started playing classical guitar. Needless to say, I’ve used many tuners. BOSS, Korg, Peterson Strobostomp on my pedalboard, you name it I’ve probably owned it at one point. On my iPhone I’ve tried SO many tuner apps, paid and free, I can’t even count how many. The truth is (and any player who’s worth their salt will tell you the same) that none of them are any good. They’re not accurate and don’t track well. Until now that is! Seriously, this is the app I’ve been waiting for. It’s not only better than any app I’ve used, but it’s also way better than my expensive hardware tuners. AND has a ton of crazy features. Nothing comes close, just get it.

Rubbish

When compared to the other tuners out there this one is complete rubbish. It will only pick up your guitar if it's plugged into your iPhone/iPad - yes even with the advanced upgrade. I have 5 different tuners on my phone. This is the only one I paid for and this is the only one that does work.

You can use "Stage Mode" to tune for free. which is one of our most popular modes. There is a ton of additional functionality available for purchase, depending on your needs. A lot of hard work goes into VITALtuner, making it a high quality app with a proprietary tuning engine and packed with features that no other tuning app has.
