Batty: ZX Spectrum is the first in an entirely new range of apps which, we intend, should enable every ZX Spectrum game we publish to be played and completed, completely free of charge.
Batty: ZX Spectrum is the 100% original ZX Spectrum game, as written by Mark Crane in 1987 and is brought to you - as an officially licenced product - utilising our ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection technology.

Cheats can be unlocked (and thereafter switched ‘On’ and ‘Off’) by attaining high scores or by making the associated in-app purchases.
PLEASE NOTE: You may restore the game to ‘Factory Settings’ by selecting ‘No’ when asked, “Would you like to continue from your last position?” This will enable you to make an entry in the game’s local high score table. However, if after selecting ‘No’ you then select ‘Yes’ when asked “Are you sure?”, ALL your progress, cheats and in-game credits will be lost.

How To Play:
Note: If using the Batty: ZX Spectrum apps / web app with the Recreated ZX Spectrum, ensure that the recreated device's 'LAYER Switch' is set to its 'Game Mode' - Left (A).
The Batty: ZX Spectrum apps / web app (may) offer two methods of play.
Original Game Controls and iDaptive Game Controls. To choose between these two methods of play (if offered), simply tap / click on the icon (Original Controls Enabled).
With Original Game Controls enabled, all of the functionality of the game - as designed for the original ZX Spectrum - is available. The game can be played with the on-screen ZX Spectrum keyboard (in portrait mode), or with the Recreated ZX Spectrum if available and connected (in landscape or portrait mode). With this method selected, use the following keys:
LEFT - Move left = A, D, G, J or L
RIGHT - Move right = S, F, H, K or Enter
FIRE - Release ball / Shoot = Caps Shift through Space...
Pause = 1 through 0
For (simultaneous) two-player option
(i.e. 'Double Play') split keyboard down middle!
With iDaptive Game Controls enabled, some or all of the functionality of the game - as designed for the original ZX Spectrum - is available. The game can be played with the on-screen iDaptive Controls (in landscape or portrait mode), or with the Recreated ZX Spectrum if available and connected (in landscape or portrait mode). With this method selected, use the following keys:
UP = Q
DOWN = A
LEFT = O
RIGHT = P
Fire #1 = M
Fire #2 = N
Fire #3 = B
Fire #4 = V (joystick-style).
With this method selected, play Controls for all games in the entirely new range of apps are effectively (and conveniently) the same, though some advanced functionality may not be supported.
We recommend you try both methods of play with each game and then choose the one with which you are most content.
About Batty:
The object of the game is to knock the bricks out of the court by bouncing a ball off your racket and hitting them. You advance to the next level by knocking out every brick in the court.
Some bricks release helpful features when they are knocked out. These must be caught by the racket to be used. Some will only last for a short time.
The features are:
1. Extended racket
2. Slow ball
3. Smart Bomb - destroys all creatures
4. Hand - Lets you hold on to the ball
5. Gun - Allows you to shoot
6. Extra life
7. Triple ball
8. Rocket pack - Transport to next level
9. Bonus points
10. Smash ball - Clears everything in its way
