  • Wow this is great

An easy to use app to Discover the Bible, God and how we might relate. I enjoy this app for myself and with a group. Thank you
  • Basic and that’s good.

The app is basic in a good way. The app is meant for people who want to learn what the Bible says by asking questions. Great idea! Thanks for making it free.
  • Why not Include all DBS steps?

The app is fine as it is. The only puzzling thing is why the classic 7 Discovery Bible Study questions/steps are not listed as standard in every lesson. If I understand the DBS model correctly, all seven steps are important to the process. You might be able to infer the rest of the process by reading the (very short) help guide, but why not just put all seven standard DBS questions in the standard lesson template?

A few more facilitator tips would be handy too to help new group leaders.

  • Issues with Arabic Fusha

I’ve noticed that the English lessons are not necessarily the same in Arabic. Is this intentional?
Also, Lesson 6 in Arabic won’t let me share.
When I am able to share, it shares as an audio file only.
These are great lessons with good questions to provoke thought. I’d like to see the app operate a little more smoothly without the oddities with the language change.
Thanks for putting this on an app.

  • Speed Audio

Overall app would be more useful if the scripture was not read like there’s a race to win.
If the audio was slower or had the ability to reduce speed I would give it a better rating. I guess something is supposed to be better , but, I would have preferred nothing. Thank you for kind intentions.
The rest is great that we have it to read with questions and ability to contact you for further scripture questions

  • Nice collection of DBS studies

This is a helpful app for those doing DBS studies. Especially if in an area that has good internet connection. This would also be helpful for people who don’t want to lug around a Bible or other materials. Just have everyone open the app and start.
  • Beautiful App

Great app to help you discover the meaning of Gods Word for yourself.
  • Not good version

    I don’t like this app
  • According to my view

I like Athmaraksha app and POC BIBLE.
Athmaraksha app providing many meaningful prayers and Bible study. I like that English version more helpful for me.
  • Badly thought out study app!!

I gave this one star because I cant give a zero star rating.

This app asks the same questions for every study! There is nothing to help you get into the meat of the story being studied. I’m starting the “for such a time as this” study with some friends and have had to create three extra questions to help us answer the question: “What does this story tell me about God?”. Well, since the passage is Ester 1:1-22 the answer is nothing. God isn’t mentioned! In order to discover anything about God from this passage I’ve had to create more questions that point to elsewhere in the Bible.
The title of this part of the study is “The Lure of Materialism” but again, no questions to specifically guide the reader.
Glad I’m not a new Christian using this!
Clearly there has been little to no thought put into the creation of this study. The teacher in me just wants to cry at how badly thought out it is as there’s been no consideration to the question “what do I want the people using this to learn?”

    Developer Response

I'm sorry that you didn't find the app helpful for yourself, but please do some research before dismissing someone else's ministry. The Discovery Bible Study Approach is a widely adopted approach around the world and has seen hundreds of thousands of people come to faith. The studies are designed to use the same questions so that anyone can lead them, regardless of literacy, and if you have ever used it in a group context (as is the suggested approach in the help notes) you will find that these questions are extremely powerful to allow people who have no experience of the bible to explore the passage for themselves to make make massive personal discoveries about how the word can speak to them. The Discover the Bible App is a Discovery Bible Study App and uses this approach. If it used a different approach with different questions, it would not be a Discovery Bible Study. As to the question "what do I want people to learn" - the answer is that the Discovery Bible Study approach allows people to learn from the Bible itself, without the teacher deciding in advance what it is they are going to learn.
