Description of WeatherData

WeatherData is built for meteorologists and weather enthusiasts who wish to view real-time data plots of North American surface weather observations. The app retrieves data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) public web feeds that include surface data from U.S. and Canadian airports. Data from the National Data Buoy Center are also included for access to weather data from offshore weather buoys and special coastal stations. Data plotted include current temperature, dew point, pressure, wind, sky cover, and precipitation. Data plotted are limited to the most recent observation within the last two hours.

Reviews of WeatherData

  • Useful but not always stable

The app is nice in that it provides numerical values. But the number of points is very sparse. Also, the app is not stable - it crashes when zooming in to a location without weather stations.
  • Straightforward

Was just looking for an app that would display temperature and wind direction like Fahrenheit used to. This app does exactly that, lets you navigate so you can get current temps at different locations. It’s a clean and simple app with no ads at all. Data appears to come from NOAA weather stations only, wish more data sources were included for a higher density of data points. That way I could see temps in neighboring towns.
